Chronic Illness
Chronic Illness focuses on developing projects to aid rural populations dealing with various diseases such as HIV, Diabetes, etc. Our partner NGO, Snehalaya, is the one of the largest NGOs in India, helping out HIV positive women and children.
Current Work
This year We developed 3 projects for Snehalaya, a movement therapy curriculum in partnership with Vyoma Bhanap, a Chlamydia awareness project, and an app that would allow HIV positive adults to track their HRT medication. The chlamydia awareness project was to combat the lack of knowledge about Chlamydia as a whole, and we developed an informational curriculum to share with Joyce, the head of Snehalaya. We also expanded upon our pill tracker project last year, as we put together over 110 pill trackers to give out to children taking HRT medication.

Past Work

In the past, we have worked on a series of presentations about HIV that further educated them on the disease. These presentations discuss the ways to contract HIV, different medications to assist with the symptoms, and therapy to assist with the social and mental impacts of their disease.

Additionally, we have established a pill tracker, through which children could build on their core skills, including accountability and responsibility, while staying consistent in taking their medication to maintain their health and wellbeing and to prevent transmission.
